100th deviation HO!
Yes, this is my 100th deviation (technically, I've had more than 100, but I've taken a few down for various reasons before I could make 100)
But I'm ranting.
Anyway, this is one of Kumi Zato's Hi-Ougis in Tales of the Grotto.
In ToG, every character gets three Hi-Ougis. They have their "Cameo" Hi-Ougi (a Hi-Ougi taken from a previous Tales character) a First-Level Original Hi-Ougi and a Second-Level Original Hi-Ougi.
Every character has a Cameo Hi-Ougi (except for Atticus, who has two: when the Wrath skill is equipped, his Indignation Judgment turns into Surviving Hollin)
Kumi's Cameo Hi-Ougi is Fortune Arc, one of my favorite Hi-Ougis evar, originally used by Tear Grants of Tales of the Abyss.
...Kumi's not a Tear ripoff, I swear D:
...OK, MAYBE in the hair. But Kumi's hair has PLOT RELEVANCE!
(I'm serious, her hairstyle is actually touched upon in the plot)
Anyway, spiel coming up:
Fortune Arc is the first Hi-Ougi that Kumi is able to access. However, its nameless extension isn't accessible until later in the plot, when she gets the "Guardian of Heaven" title. You have to equip her with Guardian of Heaven in order to be able to use the extension the first time. (After the first time, you can have any title equipped and still do the extension)
When you first get the Guardian of Heaven title, it appears to be a normal title. However, when you do the extension the first time, her costume changes and Guardian of Heaven permanently becomes a costume title.
(That's why her clothes change midway through
All the VA work, art, animation, etc. in this is mine. However, the sound effects were ripped from Tales of the Abyss, so all the credit for those goes to the guys over at Namco.
I was gonna include a combo count, facial portrait, and visible enemies to make it seem more like an actual game, but decided not to
I did include the little tech title things at the top of the screen though... It says Mystic Arte, but if ToG were real I wouldn't call them that XD I just couldn't think of another name.
You'll notice the lines are different from the Abyss one, which was intentional. (Not a big fan of the Abyss lines)
And when she activates her original Hi-Ougis, she doesn't start them off with "Begin!" She does here, though, because that's what Tear says and this is Tear's move.
Anyway, I'm rambling. But I'm really, really proud of this
! I hope all you guys like it too!
